Welcome to the Berlin New Stand-Up Award, now in its 3rd year!
With over 60 up-and-coming comedians taking part, this is a very fierce competition. 16 contestants made it to the semi-finals thanks to your votes! Come and vote for the 8 finest fresh new faces from all around Germany in this semi-final and decide who will compete for eternal glory, fame and 1000 EUR in the finals on March 25th!
The top 3 will go through and will be decided with your vote.

Dan Stern (US)

From the United States, now based in Berlin; Daniel Stern is a former talk show host, a retired competitive eater, a screenwriter, actor and stand up comedian. Stern’s live performances are a manic, sweaty collage of anarchic wit, earnest confessions and stories about riding the bus. His acting resume also includes dramatic roles, voice work and a bit of tasteful partial nudity.
In 2021 Daniel Stern Founded “PodFest Berlin”, a grassroots podcasting festival for Berlin’s podcast creators and fans.
Daniel podcasts with Berlin news show Radio Spaetkauf and has produced countless live shows with titles like “Motherfudgers”, “An Hour on the M41 Bus” or the sort of eponymous “Staniel Dern Show”. Stern took last place behind three children in an NBA Summer League half time dance-off.

Liliana Velasquez has crossed borders all her life. Raised in Miami, Medellin, New Jersey & New York there is no role she cannot play and her comedy reflects this extravagant mix in her Latina-tude, Catholic guilt and American dreaming.
As an adult, Liliana recklessly explored NYC, slipping in and out of different art forms, costumes and jobs. She has so many outrageous stories to tell, it would horrify her proud parents, Only now do they admire her comedic outlook on so many mistakes.
Always hungry for new challenges, Liliana soon found another platforms for the performance that is her life: Berlin. She is proud to be queer and not perfect, and enjoys waking up in the afternoons.
